Pearl Harbor survivors' ranks dwindling
Our remaining national treasures are more fragile and important for us to remember than ever.
"Bill and Gil went this year, and I'm not doing so hot myself right now," says 90-year-old Leon Kolb when I call to tell him I'll be thinking about him today - the 67 th anniversary of that Day of Infamy: Dec. 7, 1941.
Leon was supposed to be out at Hollywood Park racetrack today representing the local chapter of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association - handing a trophy to the owner of a winning horse.
But, physically, he just couldn't make it, he said.
