'Christmas Story' house opened to public [audio 8min @21:00]

If you're a fan of the film"A Christmas Story", then you'll love this story. Shot partly in St. Catharines and Toronto, A Christmas Story has become a cult classic in Canada and the States. Based on the novel In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash, by Jean Shepherd, the story follows 9-year-old Ralphie Parker as he tries to secure the only thing he wants for Christmas -- an official Daisy Red Ryder BB-gun with a compass in the stock and this thing that tells time. Well, the only thing super-fan Brian Jones ever wanted for Christmas was the house that Ralphie lived in. And while much of the film was shot in Canada, that house happened to be in Cleveland, Ohio. So, one December not too long ago, he bought it. And he painstakingly refurbished the 111-year-old house to look exactly as it did in the film. He also bought the house across the street, which he's converted into a museum devoted entirely to A Christmas Story memorabilia. Last weekend, Mr. Jones opened the house to a throng of the film's devotees. Members of the cast were on hand to sign autographs.
