Norman Rockwell's art, once disparaged, now seen in more positive light [video 57min]

In Norman Rockwell: A Life, author Laura Claridge describes the artist as a complicated man who never earned much respect from critics. Norman Rockwell produced more than 4,000 paintings and earned millions of dollars. Claridge explains that his work is now seen in a more positive light by a new generation of critics. She sat down for an interview in 2001. Claridge is the author of Romantic Potency: The Paradox of Desire and a biography of painter Tamara DeLempicka. She was professor of English literature at the U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, for eleven years.
