New book exposes underworld Victorian London [audio 6min]

Drunken yobs on the streets, the open selling of drugs and mob violence, all rolled into moral panic about"the youth of today". Sound familiar? Well it would have done to the Victorians. Gilda O' Neill's new book, The Good Old Days: Crime, Murder and Mayhem in Victorian London (Viking), is about the underworld of Victorian London, and she joins presenter Jenni Murray to talk of opium dens, hair theft and murder most foul.
