The woman of 1950's America was way ahead of her English counterpart when it came to the kitchen -- she had more money and her home hadn't been bombed. Most of us love the energy saving devices in our kitchens and wonder how our mothers ever coped with the kitchens of the 40s, 50s and 60s. Not so Wendy Morris from Sheffield, who has spent £35,000 and 15 years turning her kitchen into an American style diner from half a century ago. But Wendy wasn't even born in the 1950s, so why the obsession? Reporter Kate Betts met Wendy Morris.
