Ed Gordon talks with Lawrence Otis Graham, author of a new book about Blanche Bruce called The Senator and the Socialite. Bruce was the first African American to serve a full term in the U.S. Senate. He and his wife Josephine lived and socialized in Washington during the last decades of the 19th century.
