ABC World News Tonight producer Tom Nagorski tells the harrowing World War II story of the passenger ship S.S. City of Benares, en route in September 1940 to Canada with 406 crew and passengers aboard — including 90 British children — that was torpedoed and sunk by a German submarine in the North Atlantic. Nagorski is author of Miracles on the Water: The Heroic Survivors of a World War II U-Boat Attack (Hyperion).
