Freud's Impact on Literature [10min @24:07]

Novelist AS Byatt joins a 45min roundtable discussion on the future of neuroscience, assisted dying for the terminally ill, and the relevance of Plato today, and discusses Sigmund Freud's impact on literature. It's 150 years since the birth of Freud, the founder of psychoanalysis. London's Freud Museum marks this anniversary with a conference looking at his legacy. His ideas about our unconscious lives have influenced countless writers. Byatt is one of the speakers at the museum's Freud Yesterday, Freud Today conference. "Start the Week" sets the cultural agenda every Monday. Guests are drawn from the top movers and shakers in politics, history, science and the arts. Host Andrew Marr also welcomes neuroscientist Steven Rose; Voluntary Euthanasia Society CEO Deborah Annetts; and philosopher Anthony O'Hear.
