Ed Gordon talks with Pulitzer Prize-winning historian Taylor Branch about his new book At Canaan's Edge: America in the King Years, 1965-68 -- the final installment in a trilogy of histories about the life of the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., and the impact of his civil rights and anti-war activism on the American psyche. Brach's previous books charting King's path from Southern preacher to national leader began with Pillar of Fire: America in the King Years, 1963-1965 and continued with Pillar of Fire: America in the King Years, 1963-1965.
