Breaking Newstags: racism, Florida, Confederacy, Police
The badge of the Pensacola Police Department may be redesigned to remove the Confederate flag, which has long been a source of controversy, according to news reports.
A surprise vote came up Tuesday night after a member of the city’s Citizens Police Advisory Committee revived the issue, and the group agreed to recommend that Pensacola remove the image, the Pensacola News Journal reported.
Their recommendation will be included in their report to the mayor in March, the newspaper reported.
