History Channel Seeks Host for New Series, "The Jefferson Project"

13 JUNE 2010: For the first time in our history, a movement is underway to restore a real life national treasure: the personal book collection of Thomas Jefferson, known as The Jefferson Library. Get a front row seat to all of the action and travel the globe on a quest to uncover the secret hiding places of these lost relics.

“The Jefferson Project”, produced by Original Productions – the masterminds behind “Deadliest Catch”, “Ice Road Truckers”, and “Monster Garage” – will feature an Indiana Jones-type investigative scholar who will submerge himself deep into the underground world of black market trading as he sniffs out the whereabouts of these elusive texts. An intense nationwide search is currently being conducted to find this explorer: a history buff who is an advocate for every American.

Casting Directors are seeking a scholar with a deep and ardent passion for this subject – a host who is tenacious and dogged in the pursuit of these books, whose dedication to this search is fervent, infectious, and all-consuming. Candidates must have a history or archeology background, a love for this mission, and the fearlessness it will require not only to expose the location of these missing books, but to get them back.

If you are a male between the ages of 35 – 50; if you are physically fit, infectiously passionate about American history, and committed to restoring the Jefferson Library, we want to meet you. On-camera experience is not necessarily required. This is the chance of a lifetime for the right individual.
