MARK GARLASCO IS AT IT AGAIN/UPDATE

Remember Mark Garlasco of HRW who rushed to judgement on Haditha?

Marc Garlasco, of Human Rights Watch, told reporters recently,"What happened at Haditha appears to be outright murder. The Haditha massacre will go down as Iraq’s My Lai."

When Garlasco appeared on Sean Hannity’s radio show to discuss his views with Hannity and retired Marine colonel Oliver North, Garlasco immediately back-pedaled, admitting under questioning that he had "no idea of the facts" in the situation. Like his fellows he steadfastly refused to allow his ignorance to prevent him from judging the Marines. As one Marine said,"killers like O.J. Simpson and Scott Peterson received more respect from the press than our fellows are getting. It’s disgraceful."

He is at it again. This time he dismisses the findings of the Israeli army investigation of the Gaza Beach incident. It concluded that Israel was not responsible for the civilian deaths based on a careful analysis of TV film of the aftermath and shrapnel taken from the injured treated in Israel. Those revealed that not only was the timing of the explosion inconsistent with Israeli shelling but

Regarding the blast itself, three Palestinians were evacuated to Israeli hospitals for emergency care. The shrapnel taken from their bodies is not consistent with artillery shells and has reportedly been determined to have not been made in Israel.

Regarding the crater left by the blast, the IDF claims that the disturbance in the sand is not consistent with artillery, but rather of a sub-surface explosion. Artillery shells are engineered for an above-ground blast for maximum area effect, contrary to the perception most non-military people have of an ‘impact.’ The sand disturbance, the IDF says, is more consistent with that of a mine and not a 155mm artillery shell air-burst.

Thirdly, IDF intelligence claims that, since an Israeli special forces beach landing that took out a Kassam team during their launch preparations, Hamas began mining the beaches to prevent another IDF landing.

That Hamas disagrees with the findings could have been expected. But it should NOT be expected that a person representing a major human rights organization will rush to support it:

An expert working for the Human Rights Watch said the Palestinians' injuries were not consistent with a blast taking place beneath them.

"It has been suggested by some that the family was killed by a land mine, and this is patently not the case," Mark Garlasco said.

"All of the evidence is pointing to a 155mm shell as having killed and injured the Palestinians here on the beach," he said.

"My assessment [is] that it's likely that this was incoming artillery fire that landed on the beach and was fired by the Israelis from the north of Gaza."

Of course, unlike the Israeli army investigators he does not have to produce any evidence. He can simply shoot off his mouth with the knowledge that MSM will happily quote him. For it only demands inconvertible proof from democratic governments but never from tyrants, terrorists or self appointed NGO spokespersons such as Mark Garlasco. Their charges are thrown out with total abandon regardless of the fact that they are notoriously inaccurate.

Why?

Because, MSM WANTS TO FIGHT PLAGUES, NOT HUMAN EVIL and Garlasco helps them"prove" that democratic governments are as evil as their enemies. Moreover, they together exploit the fact that as Winston Churchill said:"Evil A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on."

Thank G-d to the new media. Without it, the self appointed MSM-NGO coalition would have the run of the globe unchallenged. As is, it is justly losing credibility by leaps and bound though I cannot but steal Michael Ledeen plea:

Faster, please.

Update: I was watching BBC news. It showed Mark Garlasco was standing by a crater with white powder when he said this:

"All of the evidence is pointing to a 155mm shell as having killed and injured the Palestinians here on the beach," he said.

"My assessment [is] that it’s likely that this was incoming artillery fire that landed on the beach and was fired by the Israelis from the north of Gaza.”

This must be new footage and it is a response to PMW's Comment:

It should be noted that not only is the video falsified, but the beach scene clearly backs the Israeli contention that the deaths were not caused by an Israeli shell. Any Israeli shell would have left a giant crater and spread sand over the entire area, as well as on the victims. There is no crater and the beach scene is not disturbed in a way that indicates an Israeli shell could have landed nearby."

Now, suddenly, there is a crater. Where did it come from? It cannot be seen in the footage with the girl but only in a later footage clearly taken today, not at the time of the explosion. The possibilities of tinkering are obvious.

The Independent has more information along with a misleading headline: Revealed: the shrapnel evidence that points to Israel's guilt based on the following assessment by Garlasco:

"Of course I can't be completely conclusive but all the evidence points to its being a 155mm Israeli shell which killed the Palestinians on the beach."

He also ruled out the possibility of naval shelling pushed originally by Palestinian eyewitnesses.

Note that on June 10, the reliable The Independent announced just as authoritatively: Palestinians killed on Gaza beach by Israeli gunboats"

The Guardian skips Garlasco's comment that he cannot be conclusive.

When it comes to the israeli palestinian conflict..,there are no facts . There are only beliefs. This is true when it comes to past events as well as present ones. In the case of gaza shelling israel refused an independent inquiry. The palestinians refused to handle the shrapnel. So the wholle case will keep shrouded in deep mystery. The pro Israelis will keep believing in the IDF , Israel . The Pro palestinians will keep believing in the Guardian , Independent, Pali sourcers.
Nothing did change.
Its a kind of Deja Vue.
