Tim Burke,"Some Teaching I Have Known," Easily Distracted, 28 May, is the first in a series of posts in which Burke takes up the charge by ACTA and Erin O'Conner (and scroll down) that teaching has been"politicized."

Rosemary Mitchell reviews Miriam Burstein's Narrating Women's History in Britain, 1770-1902.

Ken Loach's The Wind That Shakes the Barley, a film about the early twentieth century Irish rebellion, has won the top prize at the Cannes Film Festival.

Finally, Lyndon Baines Johnson analyzes Gerald Ford's economic policies. Hat tip: Big Tent.
