James Bartholomew argues that we need a revision course on why capitalism is a good thing. Indeed we do. Unfortunately, only those who grew up in a non Capitalistic world know it. Those who grew up in the Capitalist world learned to revile it. Unfortunately, the same can be said about development and democracy.

Why? Because all three prevent intellectuals, today's priestly class, from managing our affairs in line with their superior knowledge. They would opt for the philosopher-king every time. Hence, their love affair with dictators who seem to follow their prescriptions.
