Transparency Gone Wild

Yes, I know I've been urging transparency in academia, and especially at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, but this is not what I had in mind:
NEWARK: UNIVERSITY COMPUTERS HACKED Computer hackers gained access to the Social Security numbers and other confidential financial information of almost 2,000 students and alumni of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, university officials say. The breach, first reported by The Star-Ledger yesterday, was discovered on Feb. 24, although university officials did not say when the hacking occurred. University officials said they believed that the hackers had not taken the information, which included aid and loan data for about 700 students and 1,150 alumni. Security experts are investigating, the officials said. (AP)
