Bill Bryson's AT HOME

Ever since reading Bill Bryson's latest book, At Home: A Short History of Private Life, I have been enthusiastically recommending it to fellow economists, historians, and libertarians. It engagingly and entertainingly brings home (literally) the enormous impacts and benefits of economic growth, and couples that with wonderful digressions into the details of economic history. It could provide great supplementary readings in any economic history class and many regular history classes. I was disappointed about not having the time to review the book at length. Fortunately, David Henderson has now written a better review than I could for Policy Review. He shares my assessment, so I urge all to check it out. David also blogs about the book here.
