Israel is a rogue state and this speech is the only convincing argument I have ever seen supporting the above statement.

Most of the Arabs who lost their land in 1948 did so because they figured the Arab states would destroy Israel and they could go back. The Israelis wanted them to stay. Other Arabs stayed in Israel and they have done much better than those who left to become permanent refugees abandoned by their Arab brothers who talked or threatened them out of their homes in the first place and then lost the war, see here.

My point was not about the intellectual arguments for and against Zionism but rather about how after the Holocaust the Jewish people as a whole began to believe in the necessity of a physical homeland, at least one place on earth where they could count on being safe without counting on the good graces of others. Now if that was not going to be in the place where Judaism began then where else? The Jews and the Arabs could have lived there peacefully but the Arab leaders influenced by Nazism did not want that to happen.

Zionism did not begin as a program for displaced and persecuted Jews but rather as a homeland for all Jews. It became a refugee mission only when Zionist leaders opportunistically shifted grounds after WWII. In fact, American Zionist organizations did not want German Jews allowed into the United States in the 1930s. They wanted only one place open: Palestine, because only that would advance their mission, which had nothing to do with the Holocaust. Ben-Gurion, 1938: "If I knew it was possible to save all the children in Germany by taking them to England, and only half of the children by taking them to Eretz Israel, I would choose the second solution. For we must take into account not only the lives of these children but also the history of the people of Israel."
This was a cynical political move that cost many innocent lives. It is a shame that will never be erased.

Most of those arguing against the creation of the state of Israel in the above article are doing so before the Holocaust occurred. Perhaps that event would have changed their minds. If a nuclear armed Israeli state had existed in 1941 would six million Jews have perished in Europe?

If their nuclear program is so secret why does everyone seem to know about it. As for their weapons not being inspected by the IAEA, so what We do not care what that organization says, time and time again they tell us that Iran has no nuclear weapons program, yet we still sanction them and continually threaten war.

It's patently obvious that Mr Halderman has deliberately failed to identify the real reasons that Israel is a rogue state.
FACT: It is the only secret nuclear state in the world.
FACT: It is estimated to have concealed between 200 and 300 nuclear warheads from inspection by the International Atomic Energy Agency.
FACT: It has built at least 100 more nuclear weapons that it could ever need for the defense of the state.
FACT: It is now possibly the 5th most powerfully armed state in the entire world.
FACT: By virtue of the above stratagem colluded in by the US that allows this dangerous charade to exist, world peace can now be literally under threat at any time. Today, tomorrow, next week. Who knows?
FACT: The US has now lost any control over the now powerfully armed Israel.
