Orin Kerr at the Volokh Conspiracy argues that U.S. casualties in Iraq per number of troops deployed are far closer to the levels of the Vietnam War than is often thought.
On a related note, I sense from his posts that Kerr is more skeptical about the benefits of the Iraq war than his fellow conspirators at Volokh.
