Quite right. Even so-called antiwar Democrats, such as Krugman, think that World War II illustrates the success of Keynesianism.

Sadly, folks have already done that. It's called "military Keynesianism" and there's a Wikipedia article about it. Come to think of it, if paying people to resurface roads will stimulate the economy, then why wouldn't paying people to make bombs -- or drop them? Which I suppose is Sheldon't point -- the military Keynesians are just being consistent.
