I agree. This is a lost cause but if the interim government has *any* chance to survive (which it probably doesn't), it will only be if we get out. I'm looking forward the responses you get.

BTW, you must feel pretty lonely over at Volokh. Glad to hear that anti-war beachhead has been established. I never understood how so many of the Haykians over there could I have possibly believed that this could succeed.

I just can't bring myself to take his question very seriously. The US should withdraw with all deliberate speed; it should start withdrawing this afternoon. No, they shouldn't withdraw in a route. Might as well give the interim regime a little warning first. A month should do.
