1. Bush's real belief that he is on the side of the Absolute Good.

2. The complete isolation of Bush & his advisors from reality, & their insulation against learning about the real world.

3. The monarchical atmosphere: awe at being so close to an absolute monarch. The sycophancy of those who spoke to the Sovereign Himself.
