More Noted Things

History is Elementary hosts History Carnival XLIX on Thursday 1 March. Use the form to nominate the best of history blogging since 15 February.

Henry Farrell at Crooked Timber asks academic bloggers to take another look at his Academic Blogs wiki. Its list of History Blogs is smaller than Cliopatria's History Blogroll because: we list many non-academic blogs; we include, rather than separating out, non-English language blogs; and we include many art & cultural history, classics, and even religion blogs that are separately listed on Crooked Timber's wiki. But if you maintain an academic history blog, be sure to list it on the Academic Blogs wiki. That will help interested readers to find you.

John Lewis Gaddis,"Great Leap Forward," NY Times, 25 February, reviews Margaret MacMillan's Nixon and Mao: The Week That Changed the World.

Niall Ferguson,"Hatred of America Unites the World," Telegraph, 25 February, finds hostility to the United States in places that you might not expect.

Seymour M. Hersh,"The Redirection: Is the Administration's new policy benefitting our enemies in the war on terror?" New Yorker, 5 March, takes another look at the Bush administration's contingency plans in Iran.
