Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson: The Concert

The Public LAB presentation of Alex Timbers and Michael Friedman's Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson: The Concert Version begins its limited engagement May 5 downtown.

The rock musical, which made its world premiere in January 2008 at the Center Theatre Group, has been reconfigured for the Public LAB presentation, which is directed by book writer Timbers. Featuring music and lyrics by the Civilians' Friedman, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson runs though May 24 at the Public.

The cast features David Axelrod, James Barry, Darren Goldstein, Greg Hildreth, Jeff Hiller, Lisa Joyce, Lucas Near-Verbrugghe, Bryce Pinkham, Maria Elena Ramirez, Kate Cullen Roberts, Ben Steinfeld, Benjamin Walker and Colleen Werthmann.

According to press notes, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson: The Concert Version "is a fast-paced entertainment that takes a sharp, irreverent look at America's seventh president, Andrew Jackson. This satirical epic reveals questions about the country we live in and the leaders we choose."

The Public LAB staging has scenic design by Donyale Werle, costume design by Emily Rebholz, lighting design by Justin Townsend and sound design by Bart Fasbender.

For tickets phone (212) 967-7555 or visit PublicTheater.
