Atonement: Wartime drama wins award

British film Atonement won Best Picture in the drama category at the Golden Globes Awards. The film, which stars Keira Knightley, is based on Ian McKewan’s novel about lovers in the Second World War and depicts the British withdrawal from Dunkirk in 1940. Marion Cotillard won Best Actress portraying singer Edith Piaf in La Vie En Rose, in the musical or comedy category.
