Frank Langella to reprise role as Nixon

Actor Frank Langella reportedly is close to signing a contract in Los Angeles to play Richard Nixon in the upcoming film version of "Frost-Nixon."

Imagine films originally was in negotiations with Warren Beatty, but now Langella is about to sign for the adaptation of the Peter Morgan play, The Daily Variety reported.

Director Ron Howard is set to direct the film, which likely will feature Michael Sheen as David Frost, and will begin shooting in August.

Langella also has received nominations from the Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle for his performance in the play, which reached Broadway April 22.
