A bipartisan group of senators is attempting to put President Donald Trump on the spot – and on the record – over what many have called an inadequate condemnation of white supremacist violence in Charlottesville, Virginia last month. 

Virginia's two Democratic senators, Mark Warner and Tim Kaine, will be joined by Republicans Johnny Isakson of Georgia and Cory Gardner of Colorado, on Wednesday to introduce a joint resolution explicitly "rejecting white nationalists, white supremacists, the Ku Klux Klan, neo-Nazis and other hate groups" involved in instigating the Aug. 12 unrest.

One woman, Heather Heyer, was killed when a man who identifies as a neo-Nazi plowed his car into a crowd of counter-protesters, and two Virginia State Police officers died when their helicopter crashed as they were monitoring the events.
