Teacher guilty of harassing doctorate student to face punishment

MYSORE: The incident at Gulbarga university where a teacher has been arrested for sexually harassing his doctorate student had made the UOM to wake up.

Now, after a year, UOM syndicate which is going to meet next week is expected to decide the quantum of punishment against the retired ancient history professor N S Rangaraju who is alleged of sexually harassing his doctorate student last year .

A student doing her PhD under Rangaraju alleged her teacher guide of sexually harassing her and filed a complaint with the sexual harassment complaints committee of the UOM. Committee which investigated the case found the teacher guilty and directed the UOM to award maximum punishment to the alleged teacher. Women's harassment committee also found the teacher guilty of his misdemeanours....
