Fredericksburg site of proposed U.S. slavery museum heads to auction Oct. 31

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — A site that was destined to be the home of a national slavery museum is instead headed to a public auction.

The 38 acres are scheduled to be sold Oct. 31, the Free Lance-Star (http://bit.ly/15YuSXJ) reported Friday. The auction could get pushed back or cancelled if the museum’s backers file anew for bankruptcy, pays its back taxes or completes a negotiated sale of the land....
