On April 22, 2006 Mr. Montgomery appeared on the panel, "Defending Historians' Academic Freedom in Our Own Times," at the annual meeting of the Organization of American Historians (OAH). He was president of the OAH in 1999-2000. HNN recorded his remarks, which are excerpted here. (Warning: The sound quality is uneven.)
