70% OF THE BRITISH VOTE FOR PARTIES THAT SUPPORT THE WAR. BLAIR=SHARON

Here I go again venting but listening to the BBC pundits one may ink that opposition to the Iraq War conquered all. In reality, Blair like Bush and Howard before him was reelected. 70% of the British public voted for a supporter of the war in Iraq. After all, the Conservatives too supported the war. Michael Howard told a BBC audience last week that had he known everything he knows now, he would have still supported the war. You should have seen the unbelieving grimace his supposedly objective BBC host made.

When all said and done, Blair did what Sharon is doing now. He took a position which conflicts with a major part of his own constituency. He could do it in part because it enjoyed the support of his major opposition party. Note, that the same pundits who praise Sharon, berate Blair. This does not make either of them right but it also does not mean that they are out of touch with the voters!
