Thomas E. Woods: Wins $50,000 ISI award

Two years ago, a diverse group of us (Max Boot, David Greenberg, Jeffrey Rogers Hummell, Eric Muller, Ronald Radosh, and Cathy Young) gave the paleo-conservative historian, Thomas E. Woods, a hard time about his book, The Politically Incorrect Guide to American History. Our irritation with it probably rose with its rise on the Best Seller lists. Woods replied to Greenberg and others at his regular spot on LewRockwell.com. The criticism must have struck home, however. Yesterday, Woods called my attention to the fact that Columbia University Press has just released his book, The Church Confronts Modernity, in paperback; and that his The Church and the Market: A Catholic Defense of the Free Economy has just won the Intercollegiate Studies Institute's $50,000 Templeton Enterprise Award. $50 grand should salve a lot of wounds.
