Is it time to remember (finally) Albert Gallatin? He’s the founding father everybody’s forgotten

Albert Gallatin was one of the most important Founding Fathers, serving America for 60 years.

Today he's barely remembered.

He remains the longest-serving Treasury secretary. He held the job more than twice as long as his contemporary, Alexander Hamilton.

Like Hamilton, Gallatin was one of the few founders born overseas. Together they laid the financial foundation of the vigorous new nation. Yet they loathed each other.
